Understanding What’s Involved In Pipe Relining

Damage to underwater drain pipes is extremely challenging to fix. Not only is the job more laborious than most other plumbing jobs, but it turns out to be more time intensive and expensive too. But we at SPS Plumbers Hills District are a highly experienced company in this industry and cater to commercial and residential clients across the region. Our objective is to ensure that the services we offer, solve the plumbing problems our clients face and provide them value for money.

Drain Pipe Replacement

We also know that sewer drain damages are common especially in older drain lines. The traditional method of fixing these problems involved digging up large sections of the landscaping to get to the pipe underground and inspect it for damage.

Once the damage has been identified that portion of the pipe would need to be dug out and replaced with a new one. This entire process was extremely invasive and involved ripping up large sections of the landscape. After the plumbing problem was fixed, the property owners would have to make sure that the landscape was repaired and restored to its original state.

This escalated the cost of the job too. But as mentioned, we look to provide our clients value for money which is why we always adopt the latest technology in our work. When it comes to drain repairs, we recommend the pipe relining method.

Pipe Relining- What is It?

If you have a damaged drain and call our company to fix it, our team will visit your property and use CCTV drain camera to determine what is causing the leak or blockage., In addition to debris, small items, and food particles, tree roots tend to infiltrate the pipes and start to grow at a rapid rate within the pipe. Ultimately, the roots form a very stubborn bock that results in a sewer backup in your house.

Our team will determine where the block is and will use a powerful root cutter to clear the roots. They will then use a high pressure jet to clear the tree roots that could be causing the block. Once the block has been removed we will assess the level of damage to the pipe, If the damage is extensive, pipe relining becomes a good solution to fix the drain pipe.

The pipe relining method is non-invasive and involves installing a lining within the existing drain pipe. In this job, very little digging needs to be done and only two small trenches will be dug, one at either end of the affected drain. The epoxy sleeve will be inserted into the drain and expanded until it fits the inside of the drain very snugly.

We use the latest technology in this pipe relining method, and this seamless inner sleeve can last for a minimum of fifty years if not more. Once the work is complete, we will recheck the drain to make sure whether the lining is perfectly in place, before we consider our job done.
